London City Airport is undergoing a £500m redevelopment, which will quadruple the size of its passenger terminal.
Peter Prickett, founder and chief executive of Bricks Capital, said: “London City Airport is a key gateway for business travellers and, with a significant redevelopment programme under way, bringing a Courtyard by Marriott hotel makes perfect sense.”
Tony Swindells, director of KKA Architecture, added: “The project will provide a much needed ‘gateway’ structure at the entrance to this important transport hub, finally providing a notable urban landmark commensurate with the ambitious regeneration of the area.”
It will be the third Marriott-branded hotel to be operated by Cycas. The hotel management company plans to operate more than 10,000 guest rooms across its European portfolio by 2022.
