Commonwealth Games signs for 70,000 sq ft in Birmingham
Deutsche Bank has sublet 72,261 sq ft of offices in Birmingham at One Brindleyplace to the Commonwealth Games.
The Commonwealth Games will move into the offices in 2022.
German fund manager GLL Real Estate bought One Brindleyplace from Trinova Real Estate for £37m – a 5.25% net initial yield – in 2015.

In December, plans for the residential element of the Commonwealth Games athletes village in Birmingham were given the go-ahead by the council.
The buildings are to be constructed on the site of the former Birmingham University campus in the Perry Barr area and will accommodate around 6,500 athletes and officials during the Games in the summer of 2022, before being converted to provide 1,400 new homes as part of wider regeneration plans for the district.
A retirement village and community centre will also be built as part of the development, which is to be delivered by Lendlease.
JLL advised Deutsche Bank while Cushman & Wakefield advised the Commonwealth Games.
In other Birmingham letting news, AshbyCapital has fully let The Colmore Building, its grade A office building in Birmingham’s city centre.
Irwin Mitchell Solicitors have taken the final space available at the building, signing a lease on the seventh and ninth floors, comprising 46,750 sq ft in total.
