The former government adviser who exposed the scandal at Royal Bank of Scotland’s restructuring unit has questioned whether Andrew Bailey, chief executive of the City regulator, is “fit for that job” after criticism of his handling of the affair.
Lawrence Tomlinson, whose 2013 report into the activities at RBS’s global restructuring group (GRG) prompted an investigation by the Financial Conduct Authority, told MPs yesterday that he was “extremely disappointed” by Mr Bailey’s presentation of the findings.
