City of London lodges plans for York Way Estate

The City of London Corporation has submitted a planning application for the redevelopment of York Way Estate, N7.

The estate currently comprises 275 flats, with 209 tenanted social homes and 66 owned by leaseholders. It spans four buildings of up to nine storeys: Lambfold House, Kinefold House, Penfields House and Shepherd House.

City Corp is planning 91 new social-rented homes at the estate, backed by grant funding from the Greater London Authority. The landlord began initial engagement with residents in 2019. Pending planning consent it anticipates a start on site later this year with completion in 2023.
