City of London Corporation elects new markets committee chair

The City of London Corporation has elected John Chapman as the new chairman of its markets committee. Previously deputy chairman, Chapman replaces James Tumbridge who, after serving a three-year term, is now to assume the role of deputy chairman on the committee. Chapman will work closely with the corporation’s policy and resources committee and capital buildings committee on the relocation of Billingsgate, New Spitalfields and Smithfield markets to the former Barking Reach Power Station. Chapman has also been appointed president elect of the National Association of British Market Authorities.
