Churchill Living acquires seven later living sites
Later living developer Churchill Living has bought seven sites with an approximate GDV of £125m.
The sites will support Churchill’s growth plans, as it aims to rejuvenate high streets, create jobs, and free up local housing chains.
Churchill’s acquired sites are in Cirencester, Kingswinford in Dudley, Meanwood in Leeds, Rustington in West Sussex, Salisbury, Seaford in East Sussex and Welling in south-east London.

The company plans to deliver later living accommodation, in a blend of apartments and cottages, for local over-60s who want to carry on living independently with “the added friendship, safety and support that comes with being in a later living community”.
Churchill is looking for opportunities to invest in town centre sites across the country, where it can regenerate previously developed land close to local shops and amenities.
It said locations such as empty retail units, commercial units, office blocks, car showrooms, pubs and car parks can make the ideal targets to be transformed into thriving retirement communities.
Spencer J McCarthy, Churchill’s chairman and chief executive, said: “To meet the demand for quality housing for the over-60s we are looking for more of the right land in the right locations… Our developments create jobs for local tradespeople and suppliers, and bring regular shoppers to spend their money on their local high streets and boost local businesses.”
