Three of Britain’s biggest retailers have increased their profit forecasts after making more money over Christmas than expected.
Sainsbury’s, Dunelm and JD Sports have all said that this year’s profits were ahead by as much as 10%.
Dunelm said it was now anticipating profit of £210m, up from £181m. JD Sports upgraded its guidance from £810m to £875m. And Sainsbury’s said its profit would be £720m, or £60m more than the City had been expecting.
