Charity and social: Hamptons completes round-the-world cancer relay

Hamptons International has completed its fundraising initiative Relay around the World, raising nearly £5,000 for Cancer Research UK’s Stand Up To Cancer Campaign. The agents challenged themselves to collectively travel 24,901 miles – the distance it would take to travel around the world. The participants took part by running, cycling and swimming in open waters, exceeding the target set with the final distance travelled surpassing 27,000 miles. Hamptons International managing director Lesley Cairns said: “I can’t begin to share how heart-warming it has been to be a part of such an uplifting event through what has been a really difficult time. We’ve seen families out together walking, jogging and cycling all with the aim of attributing miles to our overall target. “Above all, the Relay around the World has given us an amazing opportunity to unify the business during a time where we have all been kept apart from each other. “Cancer Research UK is a charity that sits close to our hearts and we will continue to dedicate our time and support and look forward to further fundraisers in the future.” Workman garden sows and reaps rewards A garden created by agent Workman promoting social value has won a GOLD Scottish Green Apple Award for Environmental Best Practice.  The award recognises, rewards and promotes environmental best practice. The team at Central Retail Park, Falkirk, created the urban garden last year to promote biodiversity and community links in the neighbourhood. The blossoming garden produces flowers, fruit and vegetables, and it has also been used for locals’ wellbeing during lockdown. As Covid-19 restrictions are eased, it is hoped that school and community projects will be able to maximise the social value of the garden as well.
