CBRE to take space at Aberdeen’s Marischal Square

CBRE is to relocate its Aberdeen team to a new office in Aberdeen City Council’s Marischal Square complex.

The agent has agreed to occupy a 1,500 sq ft suite on level two of the six-floor 1MSq on a 10-year lease. It is expected to relocate its 15 staff from its existing premises on Albyn Terrace in spring next year.

The office will also become a hub for the firm’s 60-strong Global Workplace Solutions team, which is based throughout Aberdeen.

Other occupiers at the 122,000 sq ft office, hotel, and restaurant complex include Resident X, Royal Bank of Scotland, Chevron UK, KPMG, EY, Tenaris, Aberdeen Journals, NSTA, NESPF, Maggie’s Grill, Mackie’s, All Bar One, Costa, Tony Macaroni, and Marriott International.

Derren McRae, head of CBRE’s Aberdeen office, said: “The move will allow the team to work in best-in-class office space with the added benefit of looking across to the stunning Marischal College, Aberdeen’s most recognised and celebrated granite building.

“1MSq’s fantastic green credentials and wellness facilities underpin our commitment to our environmental and social strategy and will improve the workplace experience for our people, mirroring our market-leading offices across the UK.”

Alex McLellan, Aberdeen City Council’s finance and resources convener councillor, said: “The development provides high-quality office space with strong environmental credentials and is helping to regenerate the east end of the city centre.”

CBRE represented itself in the transaction; Savills and Ryden acted for Aberdeen City Council. CBRE will project-manage the fit-out.
