Another 240 places across England have been given listed status, including an old mill painted by Constable and two of London’s cabbie shelters.
They join the 400,000 buildings that receive protection from Historic England as part of the National Heritage List. Most of the newly listed buildings were given Grade II status, with only two achieving Grade II*. None were classed as Grade I.
Other sites joining the list include the Union Bank of Manchester, erected in 1909, a Roman Catholic church in West Yorkshire and two shipwrecks.
