Campaigners in Scotland are preparing to do battle against plans for super-tall wind turbines.
At least 14 wind farm proposals are in front of ministers, with some including plans for structures 850ft tall. That is taller than any UK building other than the Shard, SE1, and 22 Bishopsgate, EC2.
In all 245 giant turbines are planned on existing wind farms spread from the Borders and Dumfries and Galloway to the Highlands and Aberdeenshire.
