The Allies and Morrison-designed scheme will be built on a vacant 1.7-acre plot at the western edge of the science park.
Space in the five-storey building will be 60% labs and 40% offices. The scheme aims to achieve BREEAM Excellent with a route to BREEAM Outstanding for the lab/office areas.
The 152-acre Cambridge Science Park is part of the North Cambridge Research and Development Cluster, which also comprises Cambridge Business Park, St John’s Innovation Park, and Cambridge North.
Cambridge City Council and South Cambridgeshire District Council are jointly working on unlocking development sites for 8,000 homes and more than 2.9m sq ft of commercial space.
Sphere 25 and DP9 advised the college on planning.
