Number 10 has admitted businesses may have to wait until November for support with their energy bills.
Measures were meant to come in in October, alongside those to help households, but officials have indicated they may have to be delayed because of the complexity of the scheme.
Households will have energy bills capped at £2,500 a year from 1 October. Businesses will be offered “equivalent” support for at least six months as part of a £150bn package.
