A backlash against working from home is growing, with almost a third of small businesses saying they would be less inclined to hire an interviewee who asked to work remotely two days a week.
Some 22% of the bosses polled by Employment Hero, an HR technology company, said they would be “less inclined” to hire someone who made the request during an interview, while 7% said it would be a deal-breaker.
Businesses based in the north of England were more likely to give remote working requests short shrift, with more than 40% either less likely to hire or considering it a decisive factor against a candidate.
