Grid-enhancing tech specialist Third Equation has relocated its headquarters to Alderley Park, Bruntwood SciTech’s science and innovation campus in Macclesfield, Cheshire.
The firm, which has previously been based in Edinburgh, will occupy 6,400 sq ft at Glasshouse. According to EG Radius, the deal was signed on a five-year term.
The new facility, which includes laboratory with 1MW-enabled connection and offices, is expected to support R&D as well as provide a suitable environment to demonstrate Third Equation’s products and prototypes to clients and investors.
Third Equation will join a cluster of more than 250 science, innovation and technology-focused businesses, including cancer research specialist CellCentric; agrochemical company Globachem Discovery and global software developer SAP.
Mark Julian, associate director for commercial at Bruntwood SciTech, said: “As Third Equation focuses on enhancing the sustainability and capacity of energy grids, their work will be vital in the country’s transition to net zero. The infrastructure we provide, including access to the high-voltage power connections and collaboration opportunities with other industry experts and potential collaborators, will enable them to develop and showcase their technologies on a larger scale.”
