Brighton Gasworks plans refused

Brighton & Hove City Council has rejected plans for a mixed-use development at the former Brighton Gasworks site.

The decision went against an officer recommendation for approval, with three councillors voting in favour of the scheme and seven against.

The development on the National Grid-owned land proposed a mixed-use scheme with 495 homes and 30,000 sq ft of commercial space across buildings ranging from three to 12 storeys.
