Bridge gains consent for first UK industrial scheme
US-based operator and investment manager Bridge Industrial has secured consent to demolish an office building for a new last-mile facility in Uxbridge, west London, marking its first development in the UK.
Planning approval has been granted by the London Borough of Hillingdon for a single, detached, 50,315 sq ft prime last-mile warehouse at Riverside Way Industrial Estate.
Works on the 2.3-acre site will start this quarter after tenant Starlight Design’s lease at the property ends, to create a Class A, sustainable last-mile facility. Completion is scheduled for Q1 2023.

Bridge said it is actively pursuing land and development opportunities throughout Greater London, the South East and the West Midlands.
The firm acquired the Uxbridge site in July last year, along with a site in Barking, east London, following its launch in the UK in 2020. The acquisitions were preceded by the purchase of what will become Bridge Point Southall, in west London, and followed by two further transactions in Croydon, south London, and Weybridge in Surrey.
Paul Hanley, London partner at Bridge, said: “We are continuing full steam ahead with the planning process for our four other current development projects within the M25 and look forward to announcing more good news on planning applications and further site acquisitions soon.”
Savills and Cogent Real Estate are the agents on the Uxbridge scheme.
