Brent Cross Town energy centre gets government funding boost
Developers behind the Brent Cross Town regeneration project have secured funding from the government’s Green Heat Network Fund to bring forward a fully electric energy centre.
The £14m construction and commercialisation funding is expected to support the town’s drive to achieve net-zero carbon by 2030.

A fully electric energy centre is expected to generate low carbon heat which will supply all 6,700 homes in the development, as well as commercial and leisure buildings.
Seven developments at Brent Cross Town are now underway, with more than 930 homes collectively on site. There are also 662 student rooms in partnership with Fusion Students, 300 co-living homes in collaboration with Halcyon, and 3 Copper Square, a 239,000 sq ft office tower with flexible retail space at ground-floor level.
Most recently, Fusion has teamed up with Cheyne Capital to acquire a second site for a £275m PBSA scheme within the wider Brent Cross Town masterplan.
André Gibbs, executive director at Related Argent, said: “The Green Heat Network Fund allocated to Brent Cross Town will help make our ambition to achieve low carbon district heating across the whole of the development a reality.
“When complete, Brent Cross Town will have one of the largest fully electric energy centres in Europe, developed in partnership with Vattenfall. This network points to the future of how the UK can provide clean energy to its towns and cities on the path to net zero.”
