Brackley golf course tees off on major resi scheme

MHE Investments has been given planning consent to deliver 677 homes on the former Brackley golf course, in Little Hulton. Salford City Council and Bolton City Council have approved the outline planning application for the 64-acre site, which straddles the local authority boundaries. The application has downsized from original plans seeking to deliver 780 homes. Development will see homes delivered on green belt land in the northern part of the site over a six-year period. Salford owns the freehold to the site, and MHE controls the leasehold. The investment company funded the municipal golf course from 2007, but closed in 2016 due to viability problems.
