B&Q opens Romanian technology hub

DIY chain B&Q has opened a second technology hub in Eastern Europe as it seeks to strengthen its in-house data science and software engineering capabilities.

The new hub has been opened in Cluj-Napoca, Romania, and follows the opening of a site in Krakow, Poland.

Romania is known as the Silicon Valley of Eastern Europe because of Cluj-Napoca. The area is an IT cluster dominated by firms including Amazon, Google and Microsoft.
