Boxpark expands to Liverpool
Boxpark is to open a 21,500 sq ft venue at Cains Brewery Village in Liverpool in 2023.
It will be the first Boxpark outside London, where the pop-up retail and street food operator runs sites in Shoreditch, Croydon and Wembley.
Boxpark has signed a 15-year lease for 16,000 sq ft of indoor space, which will provide 400 covers, 10 kitchens and three bars, alongside a 5,500 sq ft external terrace, which will provide a further 200 covers.

Cains Brewery Village is a mixed-use site in the Baltic Triangle, which has plans for the development of 750 homes, a 94-bedroom hotel and a sky bar. It is currently a home to Cains Brewery, Bongo’s Bingo, Ghetto Golf, Punch Tarmey’s Irish Pub, ArCains, Baltic Market, Northern Lights and the Royal Standard Liverpool.
Usha Sharma, senior associate at Brabners, who represented Cains, said: “This deal represents a major vote of confidence in Liverpool’s retail and hospitality sector, which has successfully attracted a nationally recognised operator to take a significant space in the city.”
Andy Delaney, director at Aspinall Verdi, also acting for Cains, said: “[Boxpark’s] ground-breaking pop-up mall in Shoreditch was one of the key inspirations behind the regeneration of the former brewery and I am sure the two organisations will create something even more special at this unique location.”
