BoKlok approved for first UK scheme
Ikea and Skanska’s modular housing provider BoKlok has received planning consent for its first UK scheme, at Bristol’s Airport Road.
Committee members have unanimously approved the 173-home development, comprising a mix of market sale and social rented housing. BoKlok revealed plans to acquire the land from the council last year, with help from Homes England financing.
Construction is expected to start this autumn, with the first homes completed in 2021.

BoKlok UK managing director Graeme Culliton said: “Throughout the evolution of this project we have partnered with the local community, Bristol City Council, and the Bristol Housing Festival to create quality, sustainable homes at a lower price.
“We continue to work with the planning officers to ensure that the proposed cycleway is safe for pedestrians and cyclists as they travel alongside our development.”
