BNP PRE appoints new national development and planning boss
BNP Paribas Real Estate has hired Tom Stanley as national head of development and planning, as part of the firm’s strategy to capture increasing demand for infrastructure and regeneration project support in the UK.
Stanley (pictured) joins the firm after five years at Knight Frank, where he held the role of regional head of development land and planning, heading up its South West team, and served as a regional board member. He also had a wider remit to lead larger national projects, and has extensive experience of bringing forward strategic land opportunities, operating across all sectors including city centre regeneration and infrastructure projects.
In his new role, Stanley will be based in London and will be responsible for bringing together the development land and planning functions.

He will work closely with Caroline McDade, head of national planning at BNP PRE; Paul Nichols, head of London development; Julian Gaynor, head of development, and strategic land agency; Anthony Lee, UK head of development viability and affordable housing; and Kevin Hunt, head of Bristol planning, who was recruited earlier this year.
Stephen Wolfe, head of commercial at BNP PRE, said: “We pride ourselves on the strength of our experts. Tom’s appointment will help us to meet increasing project demand with many in discussion or execution stage.”
Stanley said: “It is an exciting time to be joining a flourishing group of development and planning experts with a strong presence across greater London and the regions.
“Working alongside leaders such as Caroline, Paul, Julian and Anthony and other members of the team who excel within their markets, my initial focus will be to deliver a new strategic direction for the business which sees us bring multi-disciplinary services together to provide clients with truly holistic advice.”
Stanley’s appointment comes after Edward O’Brien joined BNP PRE as senior director within healthcare and senior living, and Argie Taylor as head of international investment group.
