Tragus, the owner of Café Rouge and Bella Italia, has been acquired by buy-out group Blackstone for £267m, or more than double the price it last changed hands for less than two years ago.
Tragus, which has 160 high street sites and also owns Ortega tapas bars, was sold by Legal & General Ventures, the private equity group that paid £95m for the group in early 2005.
