Blackstone-owned social housing provider’s interim chief executive departs
Blackstone’s affordable housing business, Sage Housing, has announced the departure of interim chief executive Rod Cahill.
Cahill has held the role for 16 months. The former chief executive of Catalyst Housing joined the housing association last year after previous chief executive Joe Cook left the business.
He will be succeeded by Mark Sater, who will hold an interim role until a permanent chief executive is found.

Blackstone took a stake in Sage Housing in late 2017, with Joe Cook leading the expansion from 8,000 affordable homes completed and under construction to a target of 20,000 by 2022, buying up section 106 allocation across the country.
It currently has 3,000 homes completed and a further 14,000 in the pipeline.
Cahill said: “I have been in post for 16 months – much longer than the six months I anticipated – and now is the right time to hand the reins to someone else as the organisation moves into a new phase.”
