Located in the 55,283 sq ft unit previously used by The Range, the developer has been granted permission by Southwark Council to operate the cultural venue on a temporary basis until the end of December 2030.
The venue includes a food hall, urban farming, and a jazz club.
Broadwick, the operator of Printworks London, will oversee Corner Corner’s live music programme, which includes resident DJs, live jazz performances, and ticketed shows.
The food hall has been curated by KERB, the operator of Seven Dials Market in Covent Garden, and the venue will also feature a vertical farm, developed by Harvest London.
Corner Corner’s launch follows the signing of the first two retail units within newly-built spaces at Canada Water: Sushi Revolution and The Village Tree, both set to open later this year.
Spanning 53 acres, the Canada Water masterplan is one of the capital’s most highly anticipated developments. It will deliver around 3,000 new homes, 2m sq ft of workspace, 1m sq ft of retail, leisure, and education amenities, and 12 acres of new open space — including a 3.5-acre public park.
Alice Keown, leasing director restaurants and leisure, British Land, said: “British Land has worked with Broadwick and KERB, leading organisations in their sector, for many years. Their fresh thinking and new ideas never cease to amaze, and Corner Corner will be no different. It will play a central role in establishing Canada Water as one of London’s most dynamic neighbourhoods.”
