Berkeley Group has opened a new division in Birmingham as it looks to expand its presence outside London.
The group, which is London’s largest luxury housebuilder, has launched a new brand, St Joseph, which is being led by managing director Paul Savidge.
Berkeley said the move represented a return to Birmingham for the group, to complement a London market that “is normal and structurally undersupplied.”
Previous Birmingham developments completed by the group include the residential element of Brindley Place, the Mailbox and Symphony Court.
Rob Perrins, chief executive of the Berkeley Group, said: “Birmingham is on the rise, with a can-do council that seems keen to encourage development. We want to bring a distinctive approach to the local market, based on Berkeley’s commitment to placemaking and our expertise in large-scale regeneration. We plan to invest for the long term and create homes for everyone – from family housing to affordable homes and luxury living to student accommodation.”
