Notting Hill Genesis has been given the green light for the largest estate regeneration in Barnet, with the development of 2,300 homes at Grahame Park.
Barnet Council has approved a hybrid application that supersedes old plans thrown out by Sadiq Khan in 2017.
The London mayor rejected the previous development due to failure to replace 257 social rented homes.
The new application comprises outline plans for 2,088 homes on plots B to Q, and detailed plans for 209 homes on plot A, to replace the existing 743 homes.
Plot A would see 100% affordable housing delivery in five buildings of between three and 11 storeys.
The outline plans for plots B to Q provide a further 1,045 affordable homes, equating to 50% of the total units. There will be 346 social rent and London affordable rented homes, and 699 shared ownership homes.
The new application will now be referred back to the mayor of London.
