Barclays names new head of real estate

Barclays Corporate Banking has appointed Jason Constable as its new head of real estate for corporate banking. [caption id="attachment_1095757" align="alignright" width="200"] Jason Constable[/caption] He replaces Dennis Watson, who retired at the end of April after 35 years at Barclays. Watson was previously head of real estate at the bank for 14 years. Constable initially joined Barclays in 1990 and worked for 15 years in corporate and investment banking, including stints in Dubai and Australia. In 2005, he left for a role at US private equity fund Platinum Equity, where he was a vice president for corporate finance. He rejoined Barclays a year later, working in both its European real estate finance and corporate structured finance teams. Constable was most recently responsible for establishing and leading Barclays’ specialist real estate team, focusing on high-complexity transactions at a client and portfolio level.
