■ IAM Sold is preparing for virtual auctions to become a significant part of its business by installing a “green screen studio” in its new offices in Gosforth, Newcastle. The auction service provider has relocated to 10,000 sq ft offices on the Regent Centre business park as part of its growth plans and the expansion of its parent company, Intelligent Services Group. The group employs 130 people, and is looking to increase to 200 staff by the end of 2018.
■ Network Auctions’ sale on 7 September features a former pumping station in Swindon, Wiltshire, which has planning consent for a two or three-bedroom house. The property, with a guide price of £125,000-plus, is among 45 lots at the auction to be held at the Grosvenor House Hotel, W1.
■ Barnard Marcus’ auction at the Grand Connaught Rooms, WC2, on 11 September lists 243 lots. A six-floor building consisting of eight self-contained flats in Hampstead, NW3, is offered with a guide price of £3.2m. The part-vacant property, which has development potential subject to planning approval, comes with an annual rental income of £134,000.
