Astrea gets the green light on Mayfair revamps
Astrea Asset Management has gained consent for a further two major office revamps around Berkeley Square in Mayfair, W1, from Westminster City Council.
Astrea secured planning permission to refurbish 50 Berkeley Street and 50 Stratton Square, which sit between Green Park Station and Berkeley Square.
Works on the two buildings, designed by architects at Stiff and Trevillion, will bring 270,000 sq ft of refurbished office space onto the market, along with communal roof terraces on both.

The update is the latest in a growing list of major overhauls on buildings that form part of the Abu Dhabi royal family’s sizeable London property empire.
In the last year Astrea, which manages the estate on behalf of the family, has received consent for six significant redevelopments in the area, largely on “super prime” commercial properties on Berkeley Square.
About 175,000 sq ft of the latest batch of refurbished space will be on the Berkeley Street site, with the remaining 94,000 sq ft plus ground floor retail space at Stratton Street. Construction is due to start in summer 2022.
Peter Pulford, head of development at Astrea, said the decision was “another significant milestone in our development pipeline”.
He added: “It is testament to the team’s hard work and dedication that we have been able to achieve this in the most challenging of circumstances.”
