Asda wins unanimous backing for 2,000-flat Isle of Dogs scheme

Asda Stores and developer Ashbourne Beech Property have secured consent for 2.4m sq ft of development at the Isle of Dogs, E14.

Tower Hamlets’ planning committee unanimously backed plans to redevelop the Crossharbour foodstore at the meeting on 23 September.

The decision was deferred from the June committee after councillors sought further information over affordable housing and commercial uses and a site visit. The developers subsequently lifted the affordable housing contribution from 25% to 27%.
