Tower Hamlets’ planning committee has deferred a vote over plans to replace an Asda on the Isle of Dogs, E14, with 1,972 flats and a new superstore.
Councillors unanimously voted to push back the decision at the committee on 9 June, seeking additional information over affordable housing and commercial uses and a site visit.
Asda Stores and developer Ashbourne Beech Property lodged the hybrid planning application in May. It seeks demolition of the 100,000 sq ft Asda supermarket and 2.4m sq ft of new development.
