Kingfisher Quarter is being developed by Urban Centric, with plans from CW Architects.
The planning application follows an EIA request to the council, exploring a scheme of 420 homes on the former Anchor Industrial Estate.
It fronts Bellerophon’s enormous 2,070-home regeneration and is a short distance from the 206-home BTR scheme that Urban Centric is developing for Platform_.
Andrew Woods, managing director at Urban Centric, said: “For too long developments in the city have been dominated by student accommodation. This scheme will provide much-needed accommodation for people of all ages in an ultra-sustainable location within walking distance from Cardiff Central Station.”
The Angelo Gordon and Ridgeback Group joint venture company made its first major UK BTR investment in 2019, with 340 homes at the Heart of the City II regeneration in Sheffield.
Ridgeback is a UK-focused residential investor and operator opened by the former investment director of Helical, Duncan Walker. It has more than 1,000 BTR homes in development and operational. Angelo Gordon has owned and operated more than 50,000 BTR homes in the US and 5,000 in Europe.
