The estate’s chief operating officer, Mark Kildea, has been appointed as interim chief executive.
“I’m extremely proud of what has been achieved by the team here since I joined the Howard de Walden Estate four years ago,” Hynard said.
“Each of the estate’s portfolios is superbly led, and we have seen continued improvement in financial performance, occupier relations and engagement with the wider community.
“The business is now inherently stronger, and we’ve made great steps forward across the retail, office, medical, educational and residential portfolios.
“With Mark Kildea becoming COO earlier this year, Julian Best taking over as executive property director and other key appointments having been made, the senior management structure has been secured and the business is in good order to face the ongoing challenges that Brexit and the pandemic have brought.”
Sir William Proby, chairman of the Howard de Walden Estate, added: “The board would like to thank Andrew for his contribution as chief executive and the progress that has been made during his time with the business. He has helped us to achieve a great deal and we wish him well for the future.”
Hynard joined the estate in October 2016 after nearly 33 years at JLL. He became UK deputy chairman of the business in 2011 following its merger with King Sturge and led the capital markets team.
