Amazon warehouse robots will pack 700 boxes an hour

Amazon has taken a small step towards removing humans from its warehouses by rolling out robots that can pack up to 700 boxes an hour.

Two robots would replace at least 24 people at each site, packing at five times the rate. The world’s largest online retailer already has more than 100,000 robots working in its warehouses.

However, most simply carry stock and group the items needed for orders. This has left humans to more complex but often tedious tasks such as packing.
