Allied London submits Trinity Islands plans
Plans for Allied London’s Trinity Islands scheme in Manchester have been submitted for final planning permission.
The Child Graddon Lewis-designed, mixed-use scheme will provide riverside communities along the Irwell comprising 1,400 homes within five towers. Residents will have the choice to buy or rent.
The Trinity Island towers will also include farmer’s markets, shops and educational facilities, cafés, workspaces, community galleries and event spaces as well as a boat club with direct access to the River Irwell.

Allied London proposes to start construction work on the St John’s neighbourhood in 2017 subject to planning approval.
James Sidlow, project director at Allied London, said “Trinity Islands will appeal to a wide variety of people with its onsite amenities and community-lead retail offering, as well as its sky gardens and lounges. One of the tallest residential schemes in Western Europe, residents will enjoy some of Manchester’s most scenic views.”
Allied London’s chief executive, Michael Ingall, said: “This area, at the dissection of two cities, is developing rapidly. Our success in transforming Leeds Docks, the Brunswick Centre Bloomsbury and creating the Chafford Hundred Village in Thurrock, via our subsidiary Pelham Homes, represents a relevant track record, one that we will require to build a real community on the edge of two cities.”
