Acasa teams with Urbanbubble to power build-to-rent sector
MIPIM 2018: Home management platform Acasa has teamed up with managing agent Urbanbubble to roll its software out to residents in a new build-to-rent scheme in Manchester.
The proptech and fintech start-up now provides renters with the ability to set up and sort out their home, including managing their utilities with a single application.
Once rolled out across the first phase of the scheme, residents in each of the 90 units will be powered by Acasa before the platform is applied to an additional 100 units due to come online in June.
Acasa chief executive Nick Katz said: “After showcasing the platform in the first 90 units we will be scoping the rest of the Urbanbubble-managed portfolio of thousands of units to roll out Acasa.
“We are also speaking to a number of the leading build-to-rent owners, developers, asset managers and investment managers, as well as their managing agents.”
The Acasa platform allows residents to set up, switch and purchase utilities, order on-demand services and track household spending.
The app is also capable of collecting the rent, charging for heating bills for CHP (combined heat and power) systems and the booking of other ancillary services from a single place.
Tina Clinton, head of build-to-rent at Urbanbubble said: “We’re always looking for innovative ways to take away the pains of renting for residents.
“We want to allow our customers to enjoy their move and make sure they feel at home right as they walk through their new front door.
“As a managing agent, dealing with multiple utility companies and other suppliers across hundreds or, in some cases, thousands of homes is a laborious task.
“Acasa takes all of this on, significantly reducing administrative time, not only for us, but for the resident and the utility partners they work with.”
