Aberdeen chosen for Great British Energy base

The government has chosen Aberdeen as the home of Great British Energy, its proposed publicly-owned clean energy company.

Two additional sites will open in Edinburgh and Glasgow. The company will be located in government buildings until permanent bases are established.

The government said an interim chief executive would soon be appointed to launch the company along with the start-up chair Juergen Maier, former UK boss of Siemens.
