Jon Cookson, head of Colliers’ Birmingham office, said: “The addition of a residential land specialist means that Colliers can offer its clients an integrated service. Birmingham is generating opportunities for feasibility studies, residential land development, PRS and project management services alongside traditional capital markets and agency advice.”
McArthur said that residential stock in Birmingham was at a “record low,” which he said was at odds with the city’s rapidly growing population.
He said: “While this imbalance is maintaining strong investment and rental returns, if we are to achieve the Birmingham Development Plan target of around 2,500 new homes each year until 2031, while also meeting the growing demands for commercial development, a strategic assessment is required for all available green and brownfield sites in the Birmingham and West Midlands region.”
