Lord Justice David Neuberger is to become a Law Lord in January, taking over from Lord Nicholls who is retiring.
At 58, Sir David will become the youngest-ever Law Lord. He was called to the Bar in 1974 and was a property barrister and member of specialist property set Falcon Chambers. He took silk in 1988 and was appointed a High Court judge in 1996, before joining the Court of Appeal in 2004.
A spokesperson for the judiciary said: “David Neuberger was a judge for less than a decade and this quick rise to Law Lord reflects his ability.”
