Woking council approves 1,100-home development

Plans to develop around 1,100 new homes for sale and rent on a housing estate in Woking, Surrey, have been approved by the local council. The existing number of homes on the 74-acre site will double from 570 to 1,142. Nearly half of these will be affordable. The plans were put forward by Woking Borough Council-backed ThamesWey Developments and were approved yesterday evening (9 April).
