Stockport’s tallest building approved
Urbanize Homes has secured planning consent to develop the tallest building in Stockport, Greater Manchester.
The £30m mixed-use development, known as The Place, will consist of 164 homes across 14 storeys, with retail space on the ground floor.
Designed by Manchester-based Day Architectural, the building will be on the edge of the Stockport conservation area on Norbury Street.

It comes amid a wider regeneration in Stockport, where an estimated £1bn is being spent on development in and around the town centre.
The town’s housing market has recently outperformed the rest of Greater Manchester, with prices rising by 36.9% over the past five years, compared with 35.5% in the region as a whole.
Average rents are also 9.6% higher than Greater Manchester and 21.2% higher than the wider North West.
