Following a quieter year on the south coast, which saw overall deal numbers decrease by 21%, Hughes Ellard has retained the top spot in Radius Data Exchange’s M27 Corridor league table. However, there will be a new titleholder in 2019 following its merger with Vail Williams earlier this year.
Despite seeing its disposals decrease by 17% to a total of 167,676 sq ft, Hughes Ellard still transacted the most space, across 37 disposals. This was 12 more than second-placed Lambert Smith Hampton, which acted for the purchaser on the largest deal of the year, the 21,431 sq ft sale of New Court in Fareham to Aerial Direct, with Gerald Eve acting for the vendor.
Radius Data Exchange figures show the average deal size decreased by 1.7% – which was somewhat offset by Gerald Eve’s solo entry of 21,431 sq ft – and take-up fell by 22%.
