ITV has appointed Knight Frank to sell the London Television Centre site.
In August, the broadcaster submitted a planning application to Lambeth Council for the redevelopment of its South Bank headquarters. The plan (pictured) involved new television studios and associated office space, as well as 213 new homes in a 31-storey tower.
ITV bought the London Television Centre complex from Coal Pension Properties, a fund managed by LaSalle Investment Management, for £56m at the start of 2013.
According to reports, it now plans to sell the South Bank office.
A spokesperson said: “Since the original decision to redevelop the South Bank site ITV has launched its strategy and has moved to office space in Holborn and studios in W12. These provide modern, functional and flexible working environments.
“ITV needs to ensure that its property portfolio in London supports the new strategy by providing the flexibility to continue our growth, while supporting our ambition to be an agile and increasingly digital organisation.
“By remaining in our current London office and studio spaces we can focus more time and resources on the areas of the business that will deliver greatest value.”
