GLA approves Beam Park

London deputy mayor for planning and regeneration, Jules Pipe, has approved the redevelopment of the former Ford assembly site at Beam Park in South Dagenham in a public hearing at City Hall.

L&Q and Countryside plan to build 3,000 homes on the site, of which half will be affordable, as well as a new rail station.

The development sits within the London Riverside Opportunity Area, which has the potential to deliver at least 26,500 new homes and 16,000 new jobs.
