Adventure in Architecture and nine people from across the industry embarked on a kayaking expedition across Scotland from 27 to 31 August.
Starting in Fort William and ending in Inverness, the journey covered four lochs, six locks and some choppy waters. As the first all-property team to traverse the country under their own steam, the 60-mile experience led to lasting memories, new friendships, and business relationships.
With four single kayaks, two tandems and one canoe, the team paddled and towed their way across the coast-to-coast canoe trail.

Facing high winds, hungry midges and wild camping, the group pulled together for a challenging and rewarding trip.
Tim’s towering effort for hospice
Tim Ashley-Smith, senior estates surveyor for the Defence Infrastructure Organisation, has abseiled down the Spinnaker Tower in Portsmouth in aid of Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice.
The 100m descent raised £1,000 for the end-of-life care unit in Surrey.
Colliers finds space to help rough sleepers
Colliers International in Bristol is transforming a former shipping container into temporary accommodation to help the city’s homeless.
Staff have given their time to convert the donated 40ft x 8ft metal container into a modern dwelling, with a lounge/kitchen, fully fitted bathroom and separate bedroom.
The containers will be used by social enterprise Help Bristol’s Homeless to provide temporary accommodation to some of the city’s rough sleepers. The charity aims to set up a site with 11 container homes that will serve as an exemplar for similar projects in the UK and globally.
Tony Horrell, chief executive officer, UK and Ireland, at Colliers International, said: “This is a superb practical initiative and I’m delighted that our staff in Bristol are involved in it.
“These containers are being turned into high-quality units similar to the ‘micro-homes’ that are becoming popular in London, and will provide first-class temporary accommodation for people who are homeless.”
On the Way to £20k
The leasing and development team at Farebrother are hoping to raise £20,000 for the Royal Marsden cancer charity.
The team of nine will attempt to walk 120km along the South Downs Way on 21 and 22 September, to help the cancer centre continue its leading work in providing the best care, research and treatments.
