“We experienced a strong market at the end of 2017 but a slow start to 2018. Activity increased towards the summer although there were intermittent disruptions due to extreme weather conditions, including snow in March and a sunny Cornish summer.
“The industrial market for smaller units remains steady. However, demand for larger units is less predictable; there is a good market for freehold stock.
“Similarly, in the office sector the uptake on smaller suites is greater than on larger suites and this area of the market has been relatively lethargic.
“Confidence in the retail sector appears to have diminished and although not unorthodox levels of vacancies, there are fewer transactions to report of late.
“There seems to be a slight undertone of reservedness and uncertainty due to the prolonged Brexit conclusion and other economic factors, however, the atmosphere is improving.”
