The Howard de Walden Estate has appointed JLL director Jenny Casebourne as its head of retail, in a newly created role.
Casebourne was a director in JLL’s central London team, where she specialised in the retail lease advisory market.
She will be leading the property estate’s “vision for retailing and leisure” in Marylebone and will begin in the autumn.
The estate owns the majority of buildings across 92 acres of central London, including major shopping and leisure hubs on Marylebone High Street and Marylebone Lane.
Andrew Hynard, chief executive of the Howard de Walden Estate, said: “The curation of the retailing, restaurants and bars across the estate is a pivotal aspect of our work in making Marylebone one of the most attractive destinations in London.
“This is our first appointment of a dedicated in-house retail specialist, and reflects the estate’s commitment to maintaining and continuing to build upon the extraordinary shopping and restaurant experience in Marylebone.
“Jenny will play a central role in leading our team and external advisers to deliver a strategic vision across the estate.”
Casebourne added: “After five enjoyable years at JLL, I’m relishing the opportunity to work with one of London’s finest real estate teams that has done so much to give the location such a strong identity.”
Tim Vallance, lead director of UK retail and leisure at JLL, said: “Jenny has been a valuable member of our team and we would like to thank her for her contribution to the company, especially in her role helping us build a strong lease advisory business. We wish her well in the next stage of her career and look forward to working with her in the future.”
The estate is fully owned by the Howard de Walden family, whose connections to Marylebone date back to around 1710. It is based on Queen Anne Street, W1G.
