One of the most famous squares in London is moving back into the hands of the family who created it for the first time since the Second World War.
Grosvenor Square, which was home to the US embassy, is to revert to Grosvenor, the landlord, having been controlled by The Royal Parks and the government since 1946.
The 2.5-hectare site, the second largest garden square in London after Lincoln’s Inn Fields, was created by the Grosvenor family in the 1720s.
